Delegation Poker

February 13, 2017

In the previous topic of the blog we discussed about moving motivators and we selected the team most vulnerable parts. And focused on the first one on the previous blog “order”. Now we are focusing the second one “acceptance”.

Acceptance is basically a need to get an approval for what the person is doing and for finding his/her aim in the related environment. So we needed to understand what kind of works we are doing and found the most related people to give the authority. In this way we could have influenced each other and  achieved also “power” intrinsic motivation which was the third problematical one.

Therefore we decided to play Management 3.0 delegation poker game to share our work on our competences. You can find the steps below for it:

  • First step: We listed all kind of general work, that we do and created the delegation board

  • Step two: We started to select our delegation poker cards privately for each item on the list and then reflected on how we delegate the decision in that particular item

  • Step three: After we were giving points collaboratively to each team member for each items, we found the level of authority and competence of us individually.

According to our selections, we found that some of the team members have full competence to do the work for the first two items, but the other team members does not have much awareness for them.  So that means for those ones the the related members can only consult the other team members for giving decisions. For the other two items, team has the full competence and those can be shared within the team totally. For the last item, the team has the competence but need to get a feedback from some of the team members to get the work done.

Therefore we achieved a competence and an authority level knowledge for the team collaboratively.
